DR. WENDALL HARTMAN - Caro
Dr. Wendall M. Hartman of 204 N. Almer St., Caro, passed away Friday, April 29 at Caro Community Hospital. He was 61.
Hartman was born June 22, 1915 in Detroit. He lived most of his life in Caro. He was a doctor of optometry. Hartman was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Caro and an elder at that church. He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during WW II and was a past commander of the VFW Post No. 4164 of Caro. He was also a member of Theron W. Atwood American Legion Post No. 7 of Caro; Michigan District No. 4 Optometric Assoc., past president and charter member of Caro Lions Club; member of Eastern Star Kedron Chapter No. 33 of Caro; Caro Chapter No. 96, Royal Arch Masons; 32nd Degree Mason; a member of the Bay City Consistory; and the St. Bernard Commandry No. 16.
He married Jean Osgerby on June 3, 1939 in Watrousville. She survives. Other survivors include: two sons, John Hartman, Glendale, CA; Paul Hartman, Caro; three grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Ray (Nettie) Hartman; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held May 2 at the First Presbyterian Church of Caro. Rev. Alex Holmes officiated with burial in Caro Cemetery.
