John C. "Jack" Osgerby, 74 years, of North Buck Road, Marblehead, Ohio, and formerly of Swanton and Whitehouse, Ohio, died Saturday, January 17, 1998 at Providence Hospital, Sandusky, Ohio. Jack was born on July 26, 1923 in Vassar, Michigan to Clark and Margaret (Larrabee) Osgerby. He married Carol M. Trott in 1948 and she preceded him in death in 1979. Jack was a carpenter for 45 years, retiring in 1994. He was also the owner of Oak Ridge Arena and Blue Creek Stables. He bred, raised, showed and trained paint and quarter horses, winning the National Reining Horse Association Futurity in 1981. He was also a horse show judge. Jack was a member of the Carpenter's Local Union #1138, the Fulton County Saddle Club and the Tri-State Rodeo Association. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Susan "Su" (Jim) Ketchmark of Denver, CO; brothers, Robert (Betty) of Dallas, TX, and Cecil (Nelda) Osgerby of Caro, Ml; his companion, Lola Kaiser, of Fremont, OH; sister-in-law, Mary Alice Osgerby; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Jay R., in 1986. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 1998 in the Neville Funeral Home Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland (865-8879), where friends will be received after 12 Noon.
