      The bridgegroom, who had been stationed in Poland as first secretary of the American Embassy, began new duties in the diplomatic service in Madrid, Spain on September 25, it was reported."

    Joseph Flack, Husband of Aloisia 'Louise' Maria Ann Schmid. Parents Roland Flack and Sallie Walter.
    I believe he is buried in ARLINGTON Cemetery but this is the family 'marker' in Neshaminy cemetery.

      BIOGRAPHY: Flack, Joseph (1894-1955) - Born in Grenoble, Bucks County, Pa., December 5, 1894. Married to Aloisia Schmid. U.S. Ambassador to Bolivia, 1946-49; Costa Rica, 1949-50; Poland, 1950-55; shot at, and nearly hit, at the U.S. Embassy in La Paz, Bolivia, during the 1946 revolution. Died, from a coronary thrombosis, aboard the ocean liner United States, in the North Atlantic Ocean, May 8, 1955. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.

      DEATH: Joseph Flack of Pennsylvania was Ambassador to Poland from 1950 to 1955. He was born in 1894 and was a career Foreign Service Officer. He also served as Ambassador to Bolivia and Costa Rica. Ambassador Flack died in 1955 aboard the liner 'United States' while on his way home from Warsaw for reassignment.
