- NOTES: (1) I currently have John linked to Alexander as his father - but its a tentative link and I could of course be wrong.
IN the 1870 Census, it hasn't yet got to the stage on the census page where you positively state where your parents were born - BUT - it does have a column for each parent asking if "Foreign born" - and in Johns case (and his wife Elizabeth) there are NO ticks in the column !!.
In 1880, John is now deceased, but wife Elizabeth now clearly states that both here parents were born in Ireland, so what weight do you give the 'no ticks' in 1870. ?

The soldiers (1861-1865) buried in Oakwood, Joliet are named in the following list "........ N W Flack, .... " ."John J Flack of the Revolutionary War is buried here also."
