NOTES: As you look around the internet at the numerous DeCoursey Family Trees there seems to be 2 trains of thought about this James DeCoursey and who his wives were. Its probably no suprise that I am going with the version put forward in the Flack Family papers (held by Carol Temlin) that James Decoursey 1st married Isabella Flack (abt 1818). It is believed that Isabella died in abt 1819, probably giving birth to son Benjamin. James then married Isabella's sister Elizabeth on 20 Feb 1820. One Newspaper report copied to me by George Bennett shows "James DeCourcy and Elizabeth Flack were married 20 Feb 1820, by Robert Shewell Esq. James of Warwick Township and Elizabeth of Buckingham Township." ~ Information taken from "The Coursey/DeCoursey DNA Project:" at http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/Coursey/pats shows a number of Coursey/DeCoursey Family lines which are confirmed by DNA testing of family participants. This DNA testing seems to support the Flack family History correspondence version and shows Isabella - then Elizabeth - as the wives of James Decoursey. It also then goes on to compile a list from those families who have participated so far. The list of descendants is of course not complete, as it can only show descendants who have submitted their DNA.
