A pleasing function took place yesterday when Mr and Mrs Sydney Davies celebrated their silver wedding at their residence in Inglewood Road. A number of costly presents were received during the day, and also several congratulatory letters. Mr Davies, who is the brother of the late Mr J B Davies of Don Street was born in Cornwall and came to Bendigo 35 years ago. Exactly 25 years ago Mr Davies married Miss Louisa Flack, daughter of Mr Joseph James Flack of Strictland Road. Three children survived the marriage, and include one married daughter Mrs A E Anderson of Wattle Street. The remaining daughters, the Misses R and I Davies, reside at home with their parents. Mr Davies has been employed for the past 25 years as engine driver at the Hercules and Energetic mine, and still persues his vocation.
