Richard Rees was a Lamplighter from Chelsea. He was convicted at theOld Bailey Middlesex 28 October 1818, sentence 7 years, aged 17 years.
Richard Rees or Reece (spelt Reece in 1828 Census) was born about 1800 inEngland.Richard was a Lamplighter in Chelsea when he was caught for doingsomething illegal.He was convicted at the Old Bailey, Middlesex on 28October 1818 and sentenced to 7years in the Penal Colony. At this timeRichard was 17, he was 5 feet 3 inches tall, withfair/ruddy complexion,dark brown hair and hazel eyes.Richard arrived in Australia on the ship"Grenada" on 21st October 1819 and was sent to Emu Plains.Richard hadbeen a great friend of John Lees for many years, John was the husband ofAnn Bolton. John Lees died on 22 December 1848 leaving Ann a widow at theage of 34, with a young family of eight children. On 25 September 1849Richard married Ann Lees (nee Bolton) at ChristChurch,Castlereagh.Richard Rees died on 15 November 1877.

Transported for life for his part in the Irish rebellion of 1798. Fulton was conditionally pardoned November 1800 and became assistant Chaplain to the Hawkesbury; in 1801 assistant Chaplain Norfolk Island; gaining anabsolute pardon 1805 he returned to the mainland in 1806, and became aCrown Chaplain, standing in for Marsden; he became resident chaplain atCastlereagh and Richmond in 1814, and served on the bench there. He alsoran a seminary at Castlereagh House.
