Hosptial Engineer Mr W A Flack dies at Runwell. The funeral took place at Wickford on Tuesday of Mr William A Flack, chief engineer at Runwell Hospital since 1938, who died at his home "St Helens", Runwell, aged 46. Mr Flack, an expert engineer, came to Runwell from Maldon where his father, the late Mr W Flack, was captain of the Fire Brigade. The Mourners were: the widow; Mr and Mrs T F Flack, brother and sister-in-law; Mrs G Hills, aunt, Messrs J Spurgeon, O Millward, J Bennett, and J Dennett, nephews. The large gathering included many collegues from the hospital.
