A pretty wedding of considerable local interest took place in the Methodist Church at lakenheath on Saturday, the Rev Thomas Cottam officiating. The contracting parties were Mr Sargent Halls, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Halls, and Miss Maggie Mackender, The Lodge, Lakenheath. Both are popular natives of the village, and since his school days the bridegroom has been employed at the poultry farm belonging to Mr Henry Flatt. The bride was given away by her father. There were four bridesmaids: Miss Alice Morley (cousin of the bride), Miss Adeline Halls (sister of the bridegroom), Miss Gwen Watts and Mis May Mackender (nieces of the bride). Mr Jack Cross was best man.
