Nadene G. McIntyre, 93, of Hanover died Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at Elizabeth Nursing Home in Elizabeth. Nadene was born March 19, 1917, the daughter of Charles F. 'Frank' and Gertrude (Kuhns) Graham in Hanover. She attended Bradley University in Peoria until graduating with the Class of 1940. She married John G. 'Jack' McIntyre on Sept. 21, 1940 , at St. Luke Methodist Church in Dubuque, Iowa. Jack died Aug. 28, 1997, in Dubuque. Nadene worked as a State Investigator for the Department of Professional Services, retiring in 1982. She attended Hanover United Methodist Church and was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Stockton. Nadene served as County Chairwoman for eight years and was involved in Republican Women for 25 years. She also participated in Hanover Women’s Club and was a member of Apple River Canyon Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed reading, needlework and traveling throughout the United States. In her travels, Nadene visited a total of 49 states. She also enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge, and was an original member of the Dirty 8's Bridge Club. Most o f all, Nadene cherished spending time with her family and friends. Nadene will be dearly missed by her two daughters, Yerda (Clyde) Potter and Peggy (Dick) Morse, both of Hanover; three grandchildren, Rod (Suzette) Morse of Tampa, Fla., and Darcy (Matt) Wild and Jeffrey (Brenda) Potter, both of Hanover; five gr eat-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Virginia McIntyre Jones of Freemont, Calif. Nadene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; and two brothers. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22, at Hanover United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Blomberg officiating. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Hanover. A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday prior to the service at the church.
